Ridiculous atmosphere that night.

That we'll never see again at West Ham........

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Best I've ever seen.

Even the bald cunt sitting behind me in the BML wasn't too annoying that day

What an atmosphere.. the best I witnessed at UP.

There was no build up music, everybody was stood and the whole place was rocking!

When Ethers banged in that rocket, there were limbs everywhere; great memories

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
My wife had a miscarriage whilst I was at the game. Then we lost to Palace in the final anyway.

Apart from that.....

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Apart from the E/Frankfurt game the greatest atmosphere ever known at the great old ground... which was such a shame as the final was as flat at kate Moss's tits... another game that came close was that Arsenal cup game in 98(ish?)... when Hartson scored I swear all my fillings in mouth came out...

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
My biggest ever claim to any sort of fame came just at that moment. I was in the corner and told Carrick that "Matty was on" he really did look at me then passed it to Matt and the rest is history. I got totally mobbed too. Ranks alongside the last game at the Boleyn for me...

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
In my 30 years of going over Upton Park that was by far the best atmosphere I ever witnessed..

million % walked out the game thinking we was going to smash Palace in the final and go up

same old West ham I suppose

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Fella I worked with was in the Ipswich end and he literally couldn't believe what the atmosphere had been like when I saw him at work the next day.

You could feel the ground shaking.

Give anything for another night like that, just a shame it'll never happen again in our lifetimes.

I was more happy in the fact that I got to go to a game like that unbelievable night

always makes me think about it when the play offs are on

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Used to be in the back row of the lower tier of that Alpari/Betway/whatever stand so was right behind Etheringtons shot.

Was much more confident that we would beat Palace than Preston or Blackpool.
We played them at Selhurst and absolutely battered them with 10 men after Connolly got sent off even though we somehow lost.

Anyway Ipswich must hate us after losing 2 playoff semis

Unbelievable atmosphere that night.

Hairs on the back of the gregory stuff.

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Missed it but was at the last game ever there which ranks my favourite.
The Coventry LC semi was the other one that stands out for me.
Wasn't at the Frankfurt game.

Good god, that long ago?!

Watching this makes me realise I really don't remember anything about the first leg at all!! What a night that second leg was though - I was a bar manager at the time and had it on, had people trying to take the Piss telling me that I'd turned the volume right up in the big screen just because it was us, when I'd actually had to turn it down as the sound from the crowd was so immense

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Nice one Kaka the great advantage about watching these vids is they take you onto other similar ones ie the following year in the play offs again, this time at Ipswich where we won 2-0, that was also a fantastic night

For three years under Pardew we had some exciting times probably the best in recent memory

Is that the game where Christian Dailly scored with his bollocks?

Re: Thirteen years ago today..
Only a hero scores with his balls.

Goals have gone in off my arse once or twice, but testicles are a completely different ball game.

I don't remember much about the first leg either. Probably something to do with being herded off the train and straight into a nightclub (hollywoods)? by the old bill iirc. Pretty much locked in until kick off, nothing else much to do other than DRINK
